Next Day

The playtest docs for D&D Next/5e come out today.

I am expecting them to be kinda raw to be honest, but who knows.

Are you planning to try it out?

Just got my email. Should have play-test materials by the time I get to work.

I'll be trying it out. In fact, I belong to a large LARP group and the plan is to run some open games for anyone who wants to try it beyond my usual gaming group.

Got my email & unsubscribed from the mailing list. I no longer care...

Of course the link is messed up and the server is overloaded. I can't say that I am surprised.

Still having download issues.

The download issues are annoying. I wouldn't have found the documents if not for a conversation over at the Purple Place.

(If you're not aware, once you get to that Customer Help page, you have to click on the My Stuff tab. When you get to a page with your name in the upper right corner, you should be able to access the documents. There's a thread over there with a direct link to that page).

Yeah. I just don't want to wade through pages and pages of posts.

I can wait. This is a free play-test. Not like I paid for it or should expect anything more than what was offered.

Looking forward to it!

Yeah, I want to check it out. I posted today on my blog about being open minded about the whole thing, while so many seem to be so quick to dismiss 5E. BUT, I too am having issues downloading, along with many others. However, there are a couple bloggers out there that say they've started reading and that they are impressed so far...anyway, I'm still reserving judgment until I can lay my own eyes on it.

I skimmed the How to Play document. It is surprisingly light. I thought it covered the key bases. Really surprised there seemed to be nothing on battle mats or tactical movement.
